Beard Transplantation

Beard Transplantation

Beard transplant surgery is proving to be increasingly popular with men from a variety of different cultural backgrounds.

This, in addition, to men now seeking more facial hair as part of today’s fashion styles has led to a significant demand for facial hair transplants. This form of hair transplant surgery is also very popular with those seeking to   hide various different types of  scars.

Facial hair transplants are performed under the same principles as modern hair transplant surgery.  The surgeon takes individual follicles from a donor area at the back of the patient’s head and painstakingly transplants the follicles one by one on the patient’s face.

The procedure is extremely painstaking and requires a high degree of precision and is typically performed by a team of technicians and doctor.

Creating a completely natural looking beard transplant is also dependent on the surgeon’s ability to replicate the natural spiralling flow of beard hair.

Beard transplant patients leave the clinic with a face mask and this must stay in place for three days. During this time, limited movement of the face must be undertaken.

When the bandages are removed small hairs can be seen and are surrounded by a little black dots of scar tissue. These scabs will disappear  over  a period of a few days. The new facial hair will then begin to grow approximately three to four months post operatively, with compete  results at 12 months after the surgery.
